Blessings of quiet

Amidst the noise and bright lights, may you find the peaceful darkness that belongs truly to this season.

Amidst the excess, waste and gluttony, may you find sufficiency. May your abundance come in forms that are of true worth to you.

Amidst the clamour of fake and commercialised jollity, may you find warmth, love and good companionship.

May the journey out of the darkness be gentle.

May your turning year bring hope, opportunity, joy and surprises. May it be better than you have expected.

And, as is traditionally said by my wise ancestors… may the skin of your bum never be turned into banjo strings.

Thank you Nimue ~love your well wishes and words. I wish you and yours the same! Im finding by following your blog that my journey, my search for an open heart, mind, and soul are pulling me towards Druidry. Im seeking my place, my home, and searching for where I belong. I was raised in a Catholic school by our British stepmother, and my grandfather was a Baptist Preacher. Myself, sister and brother used to play as children in his little white steepled church. I love God and yet I’m still searching for something…..
I am a strong supporter for animals, nature, love, peace, and hopes and dreams, and your words are filling my heart with hope for this season and new year.

One of the good things about Druidry is that is does not demand people leave behind what they already love. Some people come to Druidry from a Christian background because they find it easier to talk to God amongst the trees and under the heavens, away from the politics…. (You might want to look for the Hedge Church as well)

Thank you i I will check into that…and that is another reason i I feel pulled or lead into Druidry/Paganism bc I read your intro several weeks ago and found your writing stated that a person doesnt have to leave behind what we already love.
Thank you for your insight Nimue 🙂

“Amidst the noise and bright lights, may you find the peaceful darkness that belongs truly to this season.”

This puts into words perfectly how I have felt the past two days. I’m not a fan of Christmas, and I have been feeling out of sorts and couldn’t put my finger on it. It’s too bright and screaming and busy. My spirit wants to settle in and hunker down. Quiet meals and warmth and finding the comfort in the darkness. I want the rest of the earth renewing Herself.

Thank you for putting into words what I am craving – and sharing it so that I am reassured I am not alone. Blessings to you and yours as we return to the quiet respite of winter.
